Welcome to Ford & Wright
We’re thrilled that Ford & Wright has come into being, so welcome to our new business and our new site.
Here’s a little intro on what Ford & Wright is and where we've come from: we met each other writing book reviews for BestChickLit.com - and later, BestChapLit - with our friend and creator of the site, Charlotte Foreman, and whilst doing this we met a lot of inspiring independent authors. We were so impressed by the passion and hard work that went into editing, publishing and marketing a book independently, that we wanted to do something to help beyond book reviews. Together, the three of us combined our love of reading and experience in editing and marketing and set up CandleLit Author Services. It was an unforgettable experience that not only enabled us to work with inspiring authors, book reviewers, and book tour hosts, but also sent us to fascinating publishing events and even led to publishing a collection of short stories by various authors for The Movember Foundation.
Unfortunately, CandleLit Author Services eventually became unfeasible, due to the time-consuming nature of book reviews and blog tours. Even now we still miss being part of the book reviewer community - a community that is essential to the success of both independent and traditionally published authors. The three of us still remain close friends, and even had the pleasure of joining Nikki on her wedding day.
Charlotte has gone on to start up a successful new business, Clever Dog Walking, and can always be found covered in mud in the countryside, surrounded by very happy dogs.
Nikki and Lizzie continue to work with independent authors and small businesses and are passionate about helping authors publish high quality books that remain true to their original intent. Between the two of us we can boast lots of experience and qualifications and bucket loads of enthusiasm for providing a really useful service to people who inspire us – and at a reasonable rate!
So although it’s sad to have said goodbye to BestChickLit and Charlotte (the best chick of all), it’s massively exciting to say hello to a new era here at Ford & Wright.
